Fanciers, friends, fans & followers… sometimes things happen and you just know: this is going to change everything. Today was such a day. I had a conversation with a potential partner and let me tell you, my heart skipped a beat. The vibe, the energy, the vision… this wasn’t just another meeting. This was a moment that could redefine the sport.
On Saturday, August 16th, 2025, the skies above Soisson (Margival) saw the release of 7,056 pigeons at 13:50 for a journey of 356.258 km into Afdeling 8.
On Sunday, August 17th, 2025, in Quievrain, no less than 1,131 pigeons were released for a battle over 183.881 km towards Delft and its surroundings. At 07:50 AM, the baskets opened. With sharp pace and full confidence, the gladiators rushed home.
On Sunday, August 17th, 2025, the spotlight was once more on a classic: Pont Saint Maxe for Section 7. From the French liberation site, 4,742 pigeons were released at 07:15 AM for a flight of 354 km back home to the Netherlands.
On Sunday, August 17th, 2025, a total of 4,799 pigeons were released from Marche. At 10:30 AM the baskets opened, and the battle began over more than 333 kilometers towards Friesland. Conditions created a fair but extremely tense race: the leading pigeons followed each other in razor-thin margins, the difference between 1st and 2nd place being just 1.5 meters per minute.
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at exactly 12:00 noon, the baskets opened in St. Vincent Tyrosse. 511 pigeons from the Frisian Long-Distance Club began their grueling mission: over 1140 kilometers home, with the unpredictable character that only a true overnight classic carries. And who could have predicted that in Hemelum, pigeon racing history would be written?
On August 17th, 2025, in Region 2, exactly 376 pigeons were released from Marche at 10:30 AM. Covering a distance of 353 km to Ternaard, the challenge was set. At 15:27:05, the first pigeon from Hoekstra / Mendes da Costa stormed onto the loft with a speed of 1188.449 m/min – securing a convincing win.
The Afdeling 1 Zeeland ’96 – F33 Melun-Andrezel turned into a true showcase of top pigeon racing on Sunday, August 17, 2025. At 07:30 the baskets opened in Melun-Andrezel, releasing 1,875 pigeons for a tough battle over 314.229 km back to Zeeland.
On Saturday morning, August 9th, at 08:00 AM, the baskets opened in Niergnies. The distance: 288.662 km towards Zuidoostbeemster. A total of 1,656 young pigeons from Kring 2, Afdeling 6 Noord-Holland, took to the skies.
On Sunday, August 17, 2025, the skies over Marche opened for another decisive race in Afdeling 10. At 10:30 AM, no fewer than 6,679 pigeons from 343 fanciers were released. With a strong northwest wind and a distance of 274 kilometers to Staphorst, this was no easy sprint – conditions demanded preparation, timing, and pigeons in peak condition.

On Friday, August 1st at 09:45 AM, the pigeons were released from Perpignan, France, for the last and arguably most prestigious marathon race of the season. With 3,643 Dutch pigeons from 467 fanciers entered nationally and a staggering 11,860 birds participating internationally, this was no ordinary race – it was the grande finale of European long-distance racing.
The race from Orleans on August 3, 2025, was one for the books. At exactly 08:00, 484 pigeons were released into the sky, tasked with covering a distance of just over 500 kilometers as quickly as possible. Weather conditions were favorable – stable and ideal for a sharp and competitive showdown in Region 7.
On Saturday, August 3rd 2025, a total of 781 pigeons were released in Orléans for a challenging middle-distance race in National Sector 4. The birds took to the skies at 08:00, with light southeast winds and warm summer temperatures – conditions that made for a fast race. And fast it was: the winning pigeon clocked an average speed of 1446.494 meters per minute over 678 km. 🕊️💨
