Helmond – May 31, 2025. What a phenomenal performance by the dynamic duo Kimmenade-Verbakel in the CC Eindhoven race from Sens! Competing against 1,438 pigeons, they didn’t just win – they dominated. Their first signed pigeon, a lightning-fast hen, smashed the clock with the fastest speed in the entire competition zone!

And that’s not all… this isn’t just any hen – she’s a proven front-runner with multiple top prizes already to her name. This time, she cemented her status as a true champion, flying with precision, purpose, and passion.

👊 From Struggles to Stardom – Meet the Men Behind the Magic

Johan van de Kimmenade and his cousin Dirk Verbakel have truly raced their way into the spotlight. Their partnership only began in 2000, and those early years weren’t easy. Johan recalls:

“We weren’t getting the results, and I’m quite fanatical. Something had to change. We wanted to shine on the one-day long-distance races, but also compete year-round – so we went in search of all-rounders… pigeons that can win from 100 to 700 kilometers.”

And win they did.

What sets them apart? They’re not seduced by big names or ‘pure’ strains. Johan says it best:

“I don’t care about pedigrees. All I care about is hearing the clock beep. Our best pigeons were often the cheapest – bought from local fanciers nearby. We don’t believe in fairy tales. We believe in results.”

Their goal today? To become ‘Best Fancier WHZB’ – and this result shows they’re well on track!
