"Mr Great Wall" Conquers All! Cleirbaut & Goovaerts Strike Gold Against 4,689 Pigeons

On July 6th, 2025, the Belgian pigeon sport once again witnessed greatness in motion. From a total of 4,689 pigeons, one single bird rose above them all BE24-6163002, better known as “Mr Great Wall”. Bred and raced by the talented duo Alicia Cleirbaut & Goovaerts, this pigeon stormed to 1st place with a top velocity of 1321.8647 m/min over a distance of 663.532 km. A world-class performance!

Once again, Richard van den Bos from Stad aan ’t Haringvliet makes headlines in Dutch pigeon racing. On June 21, 2025, during the demanding race from Lamotte-Beuvron (487 km) against 4,381 pigeons in Afdeling 5, his cock NL23-9287637 stormed home first with a velocity of 1302.411 m/min — claiming the 1st prize! Comb. de Jong Rules the Sky – 1st National St. Vincent 2025

There are races. And then there’s St. Vincent — the Queen’s Race. A race that doesn’t just crown winners, but immortalizes legacies. On Sunday, June 15th, 2025, the Dutch pigeon sport witnessed a defining moment. Against 10,263 of the toughest marathon pigeons in the land, it was Comb. de Jong who soared above them all. With only four pigeons entered, he conquered the most prestigious race of the season with a brilliant hen bred in co-partnership with Mike Dijk.
