Racing Pigeon Race Agen 2025

An international classic bringing together tension, character, and pigeon racing history

Today is the day. The start of the second international showdown of the season: AGEN 2025! Early this morning, no less than 26,796 pigeons were released from the South of France. A monumental field made up of birds from:

  • The Netherlands – 10,832 pigeons

  • Belgium – 10,153 pigeons

  • France – 4,420 pigeons

  • Germany, England, and Luxembourg adding to the mix

This is a race where more than just speed matters — experience, stamina, and class are what will make the difference. A true classic in every sense!

☀️ Weather Conditions: Warm, Selective, and Character-Building

A quick look at the weather maps reveals why Agen is never an easy ride:

  • Southern France is scorching, with temperatures reaching up to 31°C at release.

  • Skies are mostly clear, though some cloud buildup appears further north.

  • The wind chart shows moderate to fresh northerly winds, with gusts up to 60 km/h in some southeastern regions.

🧭 Translation? A challenging, honest race that demands everything from our pigeons. With the wind on their beaks or coming in crosswise, only the truly great ones will reach the front.

🏆 Flashback: AGEN 2024 – Champions Who Made History

Last year’s edition delivered spectacular highlights with two unforgettable winners:

Yearlings: Comb. Verhagen-Buyl from Westkapelle (NL)

Their phenomenal yearling not only took 1st ZLU, but also topped the international ranking. A performance of sheer class that etched their name into the history books of this legendary race.

Old Birds: Team Van Ginkel

Team Van Ginkel’s triumph was equally remarkable. Their pigeon clocked an average speed of over 1500 m/min, leaving behind a field of tens of thousands. Winning Agen is a feat few ever achieve — and they did it with style.

🔍 What Can We Expect from Agen 2025?

With temperatures above 30°C, a northerly wind, and an elite field, Agen 2025 promises to be a tough and selective long-distance race. The earliest arrivals are expected Saturday afternoon to evening, but only those with grit, power, and heart will make it to the top.

And let’s be honest — this is what pigeon racing is all about. Not the easiest win, but the one that matters most. The kind of victory that leaves its mark. 💪

🎯 Who Will Be Crowned Next?

Will the Netherlands dominate once again? Or will a surprise rise from Belgium or France? One thing’s for sure: the entire international pigeon world is watching Agen closely. And whoever wins — will be remembered forever.

We'll keep you updated with arrivals, backstories, and exclusive insights — just like you expect from Pigeon Boss.

Good luck to all!
