Saturday, June 21st, 2025. A date that deserves a special place in the annals of European pigeon racing. While thousands of fanciers were watching the skies in anticipation, something remarkable was unfolding in the city of ’s-Hertogenbosch. On two completely different races — one short distance and one day-long test of endurance — Team van Oss proved why they are no ordinary loft, but a rising powerhouse in Dutch pigeon racing.

🥇 1st Morlincourt-Noyon vs. 4,885 pigeons – blistering speed

The morning started with fireworks. At 07:00 AM, the pigeons were released from Morlincourt for a classic speed race of 286 km. With a tailwind in play, it was expected to be a close call.

But the truth? One pigeon from Team van Oss made sure the rest were chasing shadows.

With a breathtaking velocity of 1,310 m/min, their bird clocked in with confidence — scoring 1st prize against 4,885 birds. But it wasn’t a solo act. The team also claimed 8th, 12th, 16th, 22nd, and 24th. Out of 13 birds entered, 10 took prizes. That’s not luck. That’s top-level precision, preparation, and performance.

🥇 1st Issoudun vs. 1,842 pigeons – day race domination

Then came the real test — the day race from Issoudun. A 580 km flight under warming skies and light headwinds. This is where real pigeon quality shines. And again, Team van Oss stood tall.

Their first pigeon was clocked at 14:37, achieving a winning velocity of 1,228 m/min. Another 1st prize, now in the middle-distance category, followed by a flurry of top positions: 5th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 24th, 27th — and more. They sent 34 pigeons, and 17 of them won prizes. This wasn’t a lucky break. This was complete dominance.

Team van Oss – not just a loft, but a builder of champions

Let’s be clear: Team van Oss is no small-scale hobby loft. Behind the name lies a carefully constructed colony led by the visionary Irving van Oss, who has built a world-class team together with his father Rien. Their loft is home to a golden collection of National Ace Pigeons, Olympiad Pigeons, and direct children from Europe’s best breeding lines.

Irving is not just a fancier — he’s a strategist and collector of elite bloodlines. Think Willem de Bruijn, Embregts-Theunis, Heremans, Van Loon and more. But unlike many who just collect pedigrees, Team van Oss turns potential into performance. That’s what separates a buyer from a builder.

Not chance. Pure dominance.

Two different races. Two different distances. One single message: Team van Oss is the real deal. These performances confirm the form they’ve been showing all season, but on this day, everything came together: fitness, strategy, class, and winning mentality.

Credit to the top contenders – but none could match

Let’s also recognize the excellence of the competition.
M.H. Broeren from Den Dungen fought hard and took 2nd on Issoudun.
Karin van der Aa shined with 4th and 7th from Morlincourt.
Comb. van Wanrooij and Team GPS also delivered strong results.
But no one could touch the all-round dominance shown by Team van Oss.

What does this mean for the rest of the season?

This double victory is more than a highlight — it’s a warning shot. To the competition. To the championship standings. To everyone who thought the season was already decided. Team van Oss is here not just to win — they’re here to lead.
