On Saturday, July 27th, no fewer than 7,268 pigeons lined up for the Morlincourt-Noyon race in Afdeling 2. The birds were released at 08:15 under ideal summer skies – slightly cloudy, a light tailwind, and just enough tension in the air to feel something special was coming. And boy, did it deliver.
In the world of pigeon racing, Mark Janssens from Lummen is a name synonymous with speed. This season, once again, he showed why he belongs to the absolute top. But the pigeon talent flows further in the family, as his daughter Stefanie also delivered impressive results. Together, they prove that the passion for speed runs in their veins.
When the going gets tough… Eric Dek gets going! On July 25th, during one of the most challenging long-distance races of the season, Eric Dek from Kruiningen delivered a masterclass in performance and preparation. With a distance of 778.609 km and a release time of 13:30 in Bergerac, Dek’s pigeon not only conquered the entire Afdeling 1 Zeeland (1541 birds) but also claimed 6th National in Sector 2 against a staggering 7,650 competitors.
The overnight classic from Bergerac on July 25, 2025, will go down in history – because Peter Schellevis from Uitgeest absolutely dominated this grueling long-distance race in Afdeling 6 (North Holland).
What an unforgettable battle we witnessed this Saturday, July 26th, on the national race from Argenton! At precisely 07:15 AM, 562 eager racing pigeons were released under perfect conditions: slightly cloudy skies, a gentle breeze, and ideal visibility made for extraordinary speeds. Covering a challenging distance between 540 and 580 kilometers, these feathered athletes put on a dazzling show.
Wormer, July 26, 2025 – The sky was just beginning to glow when at exactly 08:00, the birds were released in Lennik, Belgium. A staggering 8,286 pigeons from Section 6 Noord-Holland launched into the summer air for a tough mid-distance race of just over 200 kilometers. With a steady southeast wind and rising temperatures, one thing was clear — this would be a lightning-fast contest.
