How to Keep a Hen on Her Eggs Without the Cockbird – The Pigeon Boss Way

Picture this: your cockbird is off on a grueling marathon flight, and your top hen is sitting on fresh eggs. What do you do? Let her abandon the nest? NO WAY! Not if your name is The Pigeon Boss.

Today, I’m sharing one of the best-kept secrets from my loft:
How to keep a hen brooding – even when her partner is miles away.

Harnessing Instinct, When You Control It, You Win!

A hen in brooding mode is pure firepower. But if she returns to cold eggs, there’s a high chance she’ll give up. And believe me, once that happens, you’ve lost the rhythm.

Warmth is the key – not just for the eggs, but for her mindset too.

Many fanciers underestimate this. They think, “A couple of hours won’t matter.” But you don’t win championships on chance. You win with knowledge, timing, and respect for nature.

📋 The Pigeon Boss Method – Step by Step

  • Between 10:00 and 11:00 AM, gently take the hen off the nest.
  • ✅ Place her in a dark, quiet space – away from distractions so she stays calm and conserves energy.
  • The eggs? Either move them carefully or place them in an incubator set at ±37.5°C (99.5°F) to maintain warmth
  • Between 8:00 and 9:00 PM, return her to the loft. Let her eat and drink.
  • ✅ Then… the magic happens: she hops right back on the eggs, convinced her cock has done his job.

Sounds too good to be true? I’ve done it dozens of times – and it works like a charm. I once had a hen brood six days straight on her own using this method. No stress, no confusion – just natural behavior guided smartly.

💡 Extra Boss Tips:

🔸 Fake eggs – Use warm dummy eggs if needed. A timeless trick that works.
🔸 Stay calm – Every pigeon is different. Observe, adapt, and learn your hen’s rhythm.
🔸 Use your brain – No rushing, no chaos. Hens are sensitive – and we play into that.

📚 Why This Works – Backed by Science

Top fanciers who fly the Natural System know: warmth equals safety in a hen’s mind. She associates it with a loyal mate, stability, and successful breeding.

“A hen brooding on warm eggs is almost unshakable in her motivation.”

And that’s our edge. We work with nature – not against it.

🏆 What’s the Win?

✔️ Your hen stays fully motivated
✔️ The eggs and pairing are preserved
✔️ The mental drive of your team stays strong
✔️ And yes… this brings results on race day. Period.
