What a race!

On Saturday, July 27th, no fewer than 7,268 pigeons lined up for the Morlincourt-Noyon race in Afdeling 2. The birds were released at 08:15 under ideal summer skies – slightly cloudy, a light tailwind, and just enough tension in the air to feel something special was coming. And boy, did it deliver.

At exactly 11:04:06, a pigeon from Team Patagoon Zuid in Prinsenbeek hit the clock at blistering speed: 1,520.311 m/min. A photo-finish, barely outpacing Embregts-Theunis of Hoeven, who took second and third with speeds just a hair behind. A matter of milliseconds. Goosebumps stuff!

⚡ Dominance with a Capital D

What followed was not just a victory—it was a statement. Team Patagoon Zuid entered 50 birds in the race and clocked 30 of them in the prizes. That’s a rock-solid 60% prize rate, but it gets even better: 10 pigeons landed in the top 35, with positions 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 25, 32, 34, and 35.
Their leading bird, NL23-1348052, wasn’t just fast – it looked like it had GPS on board. Razor-sharp timing, flawless arrival. But make no mistake: this wasn’t luck. This was the result of top-level preparation and a breeding program built on nothing but the best.

🧬 Meet the Man Behind the Magic: Jan de Werd

Team Patagoon Zuid isn’t just another name on the sheet. Behind this success is Jan de Werd, a passionate pigeon fancier and the driving force behind the elite feed company De Patagoon in Herwijnen. And believe us: Jan doesn’t do things halfway.

Over the years, he has invested heavily in the crème de la crème of Willem de Bruijn’s bloodlines. We’re talking direct children of icons like “Murphy’s Law,” “Uranus,” “Jacob,” “De Herman,” and “Floris Junior.” These aren’t distant relatives – they’re the real deal. Pure gold in the breeding loft.

It’s no exaggeration to call Team Patagoon Zuid “the satellite loft of W.A. de Bruijn.” But with results like these, you might just say: they’re writing their own legacy.

🥣 The Secret Sauce? De Patagoon Feed

Jan’s success isn’t just built on birds – it’s built on nutrition, science, and passion. As the founder of De Patagoon, he’s one of the most respected names in premium pigeon feeding. His philosophy is simple:
And it shows. “What you feed today, wins tomorrow.”
De Patagoon offers tailored feed and supplements designed for modern racing conditions. No fluff, no fads – just carefully calibrated blends that deliver results. More and more fanciers across the Netherlands and beyond are turning to Herwijnen for guidance, quality, and performance.
