A sharp loft, perfectly conditioned. Eskes didn’t just take the head prize, he showed the depth of his team by following up immediately with more early arrivals.

History and Foundation: The Class of Jan Eskes

Anyone who thinks this is a one-off has not followed Jan Eskes over the years. He has long been a champion in Section 5 (South Holland), and on a National level he is a familiar name among the very best.

A major highlight came in 2023 when his phenomenal hen “Liselotte” won the 1st National Issoudun against no fewer than 27,061 pigeons at 585 km. A performance of international resonance, etched in the books.

“Liselotte” is a 100% Van de Wouwer pigeon. On both the sire and dam’s side, the legendary Kaasboer line runs deep. This close friendship and cooperation with Gaston Van de Wouwer became the cornerstone of multiple victories. Beyond Liselotte, several other 1st prize winners were bred directly from Van de Wouwer bloodlines.

Palmarès of Greatness

  • 1st National Issoudun 2023 (27,061 pigeons)

  • 1st and 5th National Loft Champion Young NPO

  • 2x 1st National Ace Pigeon Young NPO

  • 1st Best Vitesse/Middle Distance Pigeon Netherlands (PIPA ranking)

  • Numerous 1st prize winners from the lines of Kaasboer, Katrien, Aske, Lola, Maria and New Kim

An impressive list that underlines the point: today’s victory is not an isolated moment but the result of vision, selection, and uncompromising quality.

Analysis and Vision

The numbers speak clearly. With 41 prizes from 72 entries, Eskes shows that his loft is built on depth, not just a single flyer. The 1st prize is fantastic, but the true power lies in the consistency of his team.

What makes this even more valuable is that Eskes has been repeating this line of success year after year. Whether Sectional, Provincial, or National – he keeps proving himself among the best. This is not a coincidence. This is structure, vision, and class.

The Boss Says It Straight

This is Racing Pigeons at world level. Jan Eskes combines his own sharpness with the very best of Gaston Van de Wouwer. The result: head prizes, national titles, and international appeal.

For everyone who wants to understand how to stay on top in this sport: look to Streefkerk. There stands a loft where quality and vision come together.
