Race Facts – Morlincourt Noyon

In Zeeland ’96, no fewer than 2337 racing pigeons were entered for Morlincourt Noyon. Liberation took place at 10:49 AM, with a strong south-west wind pushing the race towards a high-speed contest. Covering 220.668 km to Lewedorp, Geert Jan Meuwese clocked his winning pigeon at 12:53:20, achieving a blistering 1774.808 meters per minute.

Although the top ten was heavily dominated by fanciers from Arnemuiden and St. Jansteen, it was Lewedorp that produced the sharpest finish of the day.

Spotlight on Geert Jan Meuwese

Meuwese entered 15 pigeons and secured 11 prizes – an impressive strike rate of over 70 percent. His first three arrivals clocked at 1774.808, 1738.454, and 1738.226 m/min, with additional early birds arriving at positions 21 and 22, and further strong results within the top forty.

This is not luck. This is the signature of a loft in perfect rhythm, with health and sharpness finely tuned. Lewedorp delivered a performance of pure class: fast, broad, and absolutely convincing.

Olympic Yoni – The Proof of Pure Class

When fanciers hear the name Geert Jan Meuwese, they immediately think of Olympic Yoni – one of the greatest all-round racing pigeons of this century.

  • In 2020, she claimed two victories and was crowned Allround Ace Pigeon of Zeeland ’96.

  • In 2021, she went even further, becoming 1st National Allround Ace Pigeon of the Netherlands.

  • Her performances also secured her a place as 3rd Dutch Olympic Pigeon Allround (Cat. D 2020–2021) for the Olympiad in Romania.

Bred by Mrs. Snellen & Son from two direct pigeons of Team van Oss, Olympic Yoni reached her full potential in the loft of Geert Jan Meuwese. Later she returned to the breeding lofts of Rien van Oss in Velddriel and was kept by Irving from a total sale – a golden decision.

Her children and grandchildren have already proven themselves with top results across multiple lofts:
1st Bierges 1853 p., 1st Melun 857 p., 2nd Bierges 2095 p., 3rd Nanteuil 976 p., 4th Niergnies 1925 p., 5th Morlincourt 720 p., 7th Melun 2934 p., 7th Roye 3155 p., 7th Menen 1182 p., and many more.

Olympic Yoni is the living proof that the Meuwese system produces champions and that her bloodline is built to last.

Pigeon Boss Analysis

The south-west wind made for a fast race, but Geert Jan Meuwese showed that true victories are won by skill, not wind. His loft produced multiple early birds, proving that form, management, and breeding are working together in perfect harmony.

The connection to Olympic Yoni shows that this is not a one-time success. Meuwese is a fancier who builds legacies – pigeons that perform on the race course and leave their mark for future generations.
