On August 23, 2025, Section 7 sent 3,738 pigeons to Melun Andrezel. At 10:00 AM, the baskets opened and the contest over 415 km was on. Conditions demanded the utmost, but the pigeon of Alex van Zomeren from Tiel stormed home like a rocket. With a velocity of 1,306.809 m/min, it left the entire section in shock. A victory achieved ahead of giants like Hooymans and Bakker — and that makes this performance shine even brighter.

Last Wednesday, I loaded up a group of pigeons and drove to Steenbergen for a training toss. Everything seemed perfect — blue skies, a light tailwind, and a basket full of eager wings. But when I got back home, I noticed something was off. Three of the birds didn’t return on time. They came back eventually, but much later than expected, and visibly tired.
